Just click on the arrows coming out of each device and drag a cable to the next device in the series. There are two separate routes being set up here, one for information coming into the sequencer, and the other for triggering the kit.

Or you don’t want to use the plug-in version of BFD2? Mac mini 3. That’s a unicycle with a wheel missing. Yeah, looks like it. The multiple MIDI channel bit seems like overkill too. Now I’m just trying to get Logic in the mix. There’s stereo and multi-out versions of it available.

Posted May 13, Yes, it is my intention to get something like the Roland Duo Capture Ex as an interface for the long run.
I thought this cable would sort me out for the short term! If it is indeed the cable, do I still have to do any of the steps I mentioned when connecting to logic via an interface set the v-drums up through Mac, install a v-drums driver or do anything else for Logic to recognise them?
Some usb to host connections do require dedicated drivers, but the vast majority runs as class-compliant device out of the box. If this works, I would prefer it over any Midi interface connection, as the usb-to-host has the chance of actually providing better midi timing, as in much lower latency and significantly reduced jitter, both of which are quite important for midi drum tracking.
As soon as you use the old school midi plugs you’re also limited to the 30 year old physical midi transmission, which is greatly inferior to MIDI over USB. Hi Jazz, thanks again! Just checked rear of module, stuck with MIDI! No USB. I will give it a shot with MIDI leads through an interface and to logic. One more question, am I right in thinking that if the connection and communication between Logic and vdrums has been established, I create a software instrument drum kit and should get sounds thereafter when I hit the drum pads!?
Sep 16, PM in response to oasisads In response to oasisads. In Logic you only need to instantiate a software instrument and you should get some output. How meaningful that output is depends on the mapping of the controller and note data to the instrument.
Some instruments come with maps for the V-Drums, typically drum samplers. You’ll have to check out the specifics for the instrument of your choice. Sep 16, PM. I’m pretty experienced with Logic, though I’m not an expert, but I have used several types of controllers with it.
I merely want to trigger the kits in Logic current version. But I’m not getting any input. If I take the same USB cable and plug into a keyboard controller, it triggers the kits.
But not the Roland. Oct 9, PM. Did you ever get your problem resolved? I have a TD12, which is different of course, but I might be able to point you in the right direction. Jan 26, PM. More Less. Community Get Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Browse Search.

I’ve tried everything that I can think of. My iMac simply will not recognize my module as an input device. It shows up on the list of outputs but not the inputs. I’m not trying to record audio from my module. I’m just using it as a MIDI interface for my drums. Didn’t have a problem at all until upgrading.
Now I’m dead in the water. Posted on Nov 26, PM. Page content loaded. Nov 26, PM. Is this what you mean? It will not play playback through my module nor will it allow me to plot MIDI still. I updated my software on my module and even did a factory reset on it. Nov 27, AM. How meaningful that output is depends on the mapping of the controller and note data to the instrument. Now, when you do record, a region will be created on one track. Once recording is stopped, midi regions will be assigned to all tracks, demixed by the incoming midi channel.
